SPARTANBURG, S.C. – November 12, 2018 – Contec, Inc. was recognized for its achievements in Technology Integration during the annual InnoVision Awards dinner on November 8, 2018 at the Spartanburg Marriott. Founded in 1998, InnoVision is South Carolina’s premier organization dedicated to the advancement of innovation and technology. The annual awards banquet showcases the best and brightest in South Carolina, and Contec® was one of its 20th anniversary honorees.
The Technology Integration Award was presented to Contec® for its collaborative approach to the development and production of their innovative Premira® Microfiber Disposable Mopping Pad. The enterprising relationship between Contec® and Tietex®, another Spartanburg-based textile manufacturer, resulted in a patent-protected marketplace disruptor.
In recent months, Premira® has made impressive inroads in redefining cleanliness across several away-from-home channels, including hospitals, schools, hospitality and beyond by raising the standard for microfiber mop performance domestically and abroad.
“Premira is changing the way people clean,” declared Neron Hinton, President of Hinton Sales, a regional selling partner of Contec’s. The success of the Premira Microfiber Disposable Mopping Pad has spurred product line expansion in recent months and now includes wipes, dusters, and specialized hardware for cleaning sensitive equipment such as MRI machines.
“Our development team knocked down one obstacle after another in bringing this product to market,” noted McBride. “It could not have been done without our team capturing and sharing feedback directly from our customers with our best-in-class R&D team and our partners at Tietex.”
Contec is no stranger to accolades, having previously been honored with an InnoVision Award in 1999. Additionally, Jack McBride, Contec’s CEO, received the Dr. Charles Townes Individual Lifetime Achievement Award from InnoVision in 2000.
